HEIDI STANTON-DREW ANNOUNCES WINNER OF JURIED ART SHOW
June 19th (Bar Harbor) - Cape Elizabeth artist Holly Ready won top honors at the Criterion Theatre and Arts Center Juried Art Show held June 19th - a highlight of Legacy of the Arts Week in Bar Harbor.
The show was a great success with a large group of attendees and 25 artists participating. Over 100 people voted in the show during the course of the day, the public jury adding to the anticipation of the event. The winner was awarded a $250 prize from the show sponsor, The Swan Agency Sotheby's International Realty.
Criterion Board Member and Theatre officiando, Nessa Reifsnyder, and her son Willis hosted historical tours of the Theatre throughout the day to myriad groups of interested parties.
Cygnet Gallery curated the show, which featured artists working in several mediums. "We were thrilled to have everything from paintings to sculpture and everything in between," said Swan Agency President and Cygnet Gallery owner Kim Swan. "Everyone worked very hard to facilitate an event for Legacy of the Arts week that would emphasize both the Criterion and featured artworks. It came together beautifully and I am grateful to my team for all of their efforts."
The Gallery proceeds from the day were donated to the Theatre. The winning piece was purchased the moment the announcement was made, adding to the day's success.
Ready operates her own Gallery in Portland and is represented locally by Cygnet Gallery in Blue Hill and Northeast Harbor. The Northeast Harbor gallery will be hosting a two woman show in August with Holly Ready as one of the featured artists. |
