| FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE May 12, 2008 Contact: Kim Swan E-mail: kimberly.swan@swangency.com JURIED ART EXHIBITION TO HIGHLIGHT LEGACY OF THE ARTS WEEK IN BAR HARBOR A juried art show, curated by Cygnet Gallery and sponsored by The Swan Agency Sotheby's International Realty, will be held on June 19, 2008 in the historic Criterion Theatre and Arts Center as part of Bar Harbor's Legacy of the Arts week. A committee will choose 25 pieces from submitted art to hang in the Criterion Theatre from 10AM -4PM on June 19th. The jury will be comprised of the day's attendees. Each person visiting the show will receive a ballot and will be asked to choose their favorite entry. Voting will be closed and votes tabulated at 5:00 PM sharp. The winning artist will be announced at the end of the reception and awarded a $250. prize. There will also be a prize for the voting participant whose number is drawn and is present. The reception for artists, guests and open to the public will be held from 4PM - 6 PM. All of the art will be available for sale and the Cygnet Gallery profit will be donated to the Criterion Theatre's campaign for renovation of this community jewel. Board members of the Theatre will be available during the show hours to provide historical tours of the theatre, including backstage glimpses. The art deco interior is a masterful work in and of itself and the premiere venue for such a gathering. Interested artists should email a photo of their work or any questions to cygnetgallery@swanagency.com by May 31, 2008 to be considered for the show. Medium, price and subject are at the artist's discretion. Those works chosen must be delivered to the Theatre by June 17, 2008.
