The Swan Agency Sotheby’s International Realty Launches Historic Homes Division
Kimberly Swan, President and Designated Broker of The Swan Agency Sotheby’s International Realty announced the launch today of the company’s new niche marketing group, Historic Homes of Maine.
"We saw a need for more of a specialization in this segment of the Maine real estate market and focused on responding to it", said Swan. "A historic property needs more than a sign placed on the front lawn and some advertising, it requires interest and expertise on the part of the broker - someone who cares about the property’s past as much as its future".
Historic Homes specialists at The Swan Agency SIR must meet requirements to earn the specialist title. These include participation in educational seminars, a commitment to maximizing marketing opportunities for listings, expert level knowledge of the listings and a commitment to communicate this knowledge to buyers through an array of networking vehicles.
The Historic Homes of Maine niche marketing group is being modeled after the Company’s very successful Maine Lodging Brokerage group. "Our Inn/B&B specialty started in 1986", said Swan. "Our commitment to a specialty in this market segment has proven to be extremely successful. Though we have experienced aggressive competition throughout the years, we have continued to lead the market". The aspiring innkeepers website www.maineinnsforsale.com is the first place that inn buyers considering Maine go to start their search.
Both specialty divisions at Swan are dependent on a commitment to clients and the integrity of the broker specialists. All participants, from the owner/broker to the sales specialist have experience and success in the market segment where they practice. "Eleven Swan brokers are candidates for the Company’s Historic Homes specialist designation" said Swan. Upcoming tours of homes, attendance at classes including Greater Portland Landmarks and The Architects of Maine are but some of the events on the division??????s agenda. "Our intent is to create a one stop shopping venue for buyers looking for historical homes, much like we have for buyers looking for a Bed & Breakfast Inn."
Swan personally owns three historic properties in Portland's West End including The Pomegranate Inn and The Danforth Inn. "My taste is eclectic for sure" said Swan, "my Bar Harbor house is quite contemporary but the historical details and stories of the Portland properties really capture my imagination and respect".
